Paisley’s Weaver Poets

27 Oct

Ok, perhaps a bit of a niche subject, but something I came across while working on Hugh MacDonald’s Rambles Round Glasgow (he knew a lot of poets, as well as being a poet himself), and thought I might as well get an article out of.

Anyway, my article on artisan poets (a very Scottish phenomenon) and the golden age and decline of handloom weaving (Paisley shawls and all that) is available now in the November/December edition of History Scotland magazine. You may be able to find it in a very big newsagent, or you can order online using the link above, or it’s also on PocketMags. Enjoy!
