This will be more of a photo dump than a proper account, because long blog posts with shaky internet take too long, and everyone who is interested is getting a blow-by-blow on WhatsApp.
I’m not even doing day one, because that was just from Glasgow to London and then over to Brussels, which I’ve done enough times that it’s not interesting any more. Everything went well and the hotel was nice, which is the main thing.

Today I went to Antwerp, mainly to avoid being in Brussels while I wait for my sleeper train. Antwerp seemed very chill (at least until the schools came out). It has lots of bookshops, trams, cycle lanes, flowers and trees, and handsome old buildings. Also chocolate shops, including one in some kind of old manor house.

And the trees were in bloom, so it smelled great, too. And it was pretty clean. A decent city, according to my brief impression.

I wanted to go to the Plantin-Moretus Museum (books and printing), but it is shut on Mondays. Most of Antwerp seems to be shut on Mondays. So then I thought I would go to the Museum of Fine Arts for some culture, but by the time I’d wandered round and had a late lunch at a laundrette cafe (nicer than it sounds) I would have been paying €17 for under an hour in the museum. An ice cream seemed like a better investment.

It was a nice, relaxing, undemanding day – so naturally I am exhausted. I hope the sleeper train lives up to its name!

Verily, now do I reset my password?
